Referrals
Our lives have been blessed by Josselin and the help of others, and we are sustained by our faith and the belief that we will find the necessary support and referrals to others who can help.
The costs of Josselin’s private special education have now exceeded $100,000 plus the loss of Greg’s income to serve as a full-time volunteer for the past 3 years. For the first several years, our Hubert family was able to cover costs through our savings and income. In December 2005, we had to take out a 2nd mortgage to continue.
Many of Josselin’s supporters were introduced through the referrals of friends. You can also help us through your own personal referrals to those who would share their time, expertise and financial support.
- We need volunteer help with expertise in fundraising to raise funds for Josselin’s Trust and Education Fund at Children, Incorporated.
- We are asking for advocacy help to preserve a spoken language option for children like Josselin. See “Advocacy” below.
- We need help in Honduras to find and train a private teacher to work with Josselin and other children who are deaf. When Josselin returns in the summer of 2009, the focus of her spoken language development and education will turn to immersion in Spanish.
Thank you,

Advocacy
Please help us to preserve a spoken language option for the children who are deaf and do not benefit from hearing technology.
90% of children who are deaf are born into hearing families who use spoken language as their primary mode of communication.
The advocates of spoken language for children who are deaf have shifted their focus, priorities and resources to the young children who can substantially benefit from hearing aids and cochlear implants. The children, like Josselin who do not benefit from technology or who have fallen far behind in their language development, no longer meet the criteria to be served. They are being left behind.
We fully support the efforts to advocate for the technology children and their tremendous potential. Our own daughter Nicole is one of these technology children.
At the same time, we cannot forget the children who are not so fortunate. Who will help these children if the advocates of spoken language will not?
Please write a letter or send an email to express your personal concern and support for these special children of God to:
